This Bakes & Kropp Kitchen is Pro-Organizer Approved

Let’s be honest – it feels like there is never enough space in your kitchen. Until you turn it over to the Bakes & Kropp fine cabinetry team, that is.

In the heart of Tribeca, a professional organizer found herself challenged to maximize storage in her compact, 300-square-foot kitchen with standard options on the market. Determined to bring her custom storage solutions to fruition, she sought the expertise of our team to create a beautiful, sensible kitchen with precision and creativity. Working in collaboration with architect Michael Tower, our Senior Designer Ellen Schott transformed this small kitchen into a functional and elegant space that seamlessly blended within the penthouse's open-concept layout. Overcoming architectural obstacles and a tight footprint, the Bakes & Kropp team delivered a remarkable kitchen that incorporated custom built-ins, clever accessories, and essential safety measures for the client's young children.

To achieve the clean, transitional aesthetic and complement the penthouse's greater open concept, Ellen turned to our signature White Dove and Pearl Walnut cabinetry finish. This choice not only brought a touch of sophistication to the kitchen but also lent a sense of continuity and harmony throughout the living space.

Behind the elegant Meridian-style doors are integrated custom-built-ins to address every storage need of the homeowner. The cabinets feature tray divider storage, a spice drawer for easy access to culinary essentials, an in-drawer electronic docking station, and a thoughtfully designed bread drawer tailored to store the coffee maker. These custom additions maximized functionality without compromising aesthetics.

The Pearl Walnut island not only provides ample workspace but also serves as an additional seating area, allowing for social interactions while cooking. Topped with a stunning bright marble surface, the island brought a touch of elegance and contrast against the soft wood cabinetry.

Near the dining area, the outward-facing side of a built-in pantry was ingeniously transformed into a custom bar station. The addition featured stem glass holders and a drop-down serving surface, allowing the homeowner to entertain guests effortlessly. A mirrored back panel served a dual purpose - hiding a structural column and maximizing light, creating an illusion of a larger space within the shallow cabinet.

Considering the client's young children, safety was a paramount concern. We thoughtfully fitted the knife drawers with locks to ensure the little ones were out of harm's way. Additionally, the liquor cabinet in the custom bar station was secured with the same locking mechanism, providing peace of mind to the homeowner.

The collaborative efforts of Bakes & Kropp and architect Michael Tower resulted in a clean-lined penthouse kitchen that delivered an open and airy ambiance. The kitchen's unobtrusive design perfectly framed the stunning city views, elevating the overall living experience for the homeowner and guests alike.

This bright, airy, and efficient kitchen is a testament to the power of thoughtful, tailored design decisions. The professional organizer’s kitchen is equipped to handle all the practical needs of her family while providing an elegant backdrop in the heart of the home.
