The Centerport Pearl

$0.00

Set in the coastal community of Centerport, NY, this kitchen refresh by Senior Designer Mary Dimichino reimagines traditional design through a modern, architectural lens. The project utilizes Bakes & Kropp’s Meridian Collection, pairing cabinetry in a crisp white factory finish with accents in our signature Pearl Walnut. The result is a light-filled, open-concept space that balances classic silhouettes with the warmth of natural wood, tailored specifically for a lifestyle of cooking and entertaining.

The layout is anchored by a custom quartz-topped island, which serves as the primary workspace and social center. This focal point is framed by a composition of Pearl Walnut elements: a custom-designed range hood and integrated icebox-style refrigerator panels. These wood accents introduce an organic texture and visual weight to the perimeter walls, defining the kitchen’s high-performance zones while maintaining a sense of refined craftsmanship.

To support the demands of a busy household, the design incorporates a peninsula that provides additional storage and serving space. This element acts as a subtle architectural boundary, separating the kitchen from the adjacent living area without disrupting the home’s airy, connected flow. Polished nickel hardware provides a final layer of precision, catching the light against the neutral palette. Through a thoughtful interplay of material and proportion, the kitchen achieves a timeless character that feels both rooted in tradition and distinctly fresh.
